Bill Goshen Jr

Bill Goshen, Jr.

Three generations of racing in the Goshen family has prompted Bill Goshen Jr. to develop and maintain one of the top up and coming motorsports teams in North America; Goshen Motorsports. Beginning in 1984 with his father Bill Goshen Sr. competing and winning races in the famous Mickey Thompson Off Road Stadium Series, Bill Goshen Jr. traveled throughout the country living and learning in the world of motorsports. Whether it be carrying tool boxes, changing tires or working on engines Bill Goshen Jr. grew up racing.

While raising his family, Bill’s sons Billy and Joshua Goshen began karting in 1999. By winning 4 IKF Grand National Championships, Shifter Karts USA Super Nationals runner up in 2002 and 2004, Stars of Karting Western Division 2005 Runner up and Stars of Karting 2005 National 3rd place, established Goshen Motorsports as a leader in North American karting and Billy and Joshua as outstanding drivers.

It became apparent after having celebrated much success in the karting world, the next logical step for Goshen Motorsports was to enter the highly competitive, open wheel road course, Formula TR Pro Series. This series has produced top up and coming drivers such as Marco Andretti and Colin Braun. Billy and Joshua Goshen have won a combined 18 races in the 1600 and 2000 series over the past two seasons and captured 14 poles and 28 podiums in 2007. Joshua Goshen, at thirteen the youngest driver to race in the Series, captured 3rd place for the Championship in the 1600 series, and Billy Goshen won the 2000 series Championship for 2007, making Goshen Motorsports the top race team in the Formula TR Pro Series. Other drivers competing for Goshen Motorsports in the Formula TR Pro Series include Christian Franck, and Bruce Binnquist also taking multiple podiums throughout the 2007 season.

While continually seeking to rise to the top of the open wheel motorsports world, for the 2008 racing season, Goshen Motorsports will have a team in both the Star Mazda Series, with Billy Goshen as the driver and the Formula TR Pro Series, with Joshua Goshen moving up to the 2000 Series. Goshen Motorsports will be testing new drivers for 3 available seats in both the Formula TR 1600 and 2000 series for 2008.

The well storied history in American open wheel motorsports has included the well known families of Bettenhausen, Vukovich, Unser, Foyt, Mears and Andretti, as well as, the famous racing teams of Andretti-Green, Penske, Chip Ganassi, Newman Haas, Rahal Letterman, and Walker Racing. Bill Goshen Jr. is positioned and focused on making Goshen and Goshen Motorsports the next generation of successful family and team in American Motorsports history.
